I’m Noelle Brown, the Social Democrats Councillor for Kimmage-Rathmines.
I was born in and adopted from Bessborough Mother and Baby Home in Cork. I have been living in Dublin since 1987 and have spent decades working in the arts sector.
As a playwright and performer, I have used theatre as a platform to address urgent social issues and amplify marginalised voices. I have also been a campaigner for survivors of Mother and Baby Homes for many years and I am a member of the LGBTQ+ Community.
I have seen the inspiring work that Tara Deacy has done as a Councillor for the entire ward, and I intend to be equally active and engaged. I look forward to collaborating with new and existing community groups to work towards inclusive, progressive, and forward-looking planning for Kimmage-Rathmines Local Election Area.
I want to address the needs and hopes of Kimmage-Rathmines residents and act accordingly. I firmly believe progress cannot happen without consensus, and decisions must be made using an evidence-based approach. In other words, nothing about us without us.
