Local Election Candidate for Laytown – Bettystown

Originally from North Dublin, Rob moved to Stamullen in 2002 and then onto Laytown in 2006 were he resides to this day.

Over last few years Rob has experienced the rise and fall of the Celtic Tiger, while getting married having two kids and buying a home just before the crash in 2008. Rob would consider himself as part of ‘the squeezed middle’

Rob has experienced redundancy and was even self employed for a number of years. He also owned a local sports shop that unfortunately fell victim to the recession also.

Most of his working life has been in the disability and sports sectors, an area Rob finds challenging but rewarding area of work.

Rob is a firm believer in working hard and contributing to his local community to create a fair and safe place to live for my growing family. He wants to see public monies being spent wisely and with transparency and accountability.

Rob also wants to see a NHS style health service in Ireland and it was the Social Democrats Sláintecare plan that attracted him to the party. Rob firmly believes that what the Soc Dems stand for represents him and his generation.
