Just before lunch today, Bam the construction company, building stage 1 of the National Children's Hospital announced that they would facilitate a withdrawal from the construction as the Government has implied underhanded (Low Balling) by Bam in the tenure stage, which Bam refute.
If you read my posts I know I'm repeating myself But, We now have an opportunity of relocating the site to a greenfield site in Blanchardstown which would be far more suitable for patient's, a co location Maternity hospital, access by Air and Road and accessible for far more people to access and opportunity to expand in the future.
My suggestion for the St James site would be building Social and Affordable housing for workers and communities to live in our city.
Elected members of government must listen to the people and common sense must prevail.

Good idea, social housing near Dublin is a better use of the site. Site for a hospital further outside of Dublin gives more growth potential and better access for people outside of Dublin.
Should have been built at Connolly in the first place,to many backhanders
Connolly. Transport - M50, Trains, busses. All straight to the hospital. St James’s - Total gridlock now, what will it be in ten years.
Use the James site for nurses accomadation even for a very minimum rent instead of nurses having to pay two thirds of their wages on extravagant private rents or travel distance it would pay for itself after so many years also you would have staff located on sight in case of a serious emergency or serious weather conditions
They don't do common sense Stephen.
but what happens to the structure they've already put there...same as the site on Eccles St that was started...it was always the wrong site & always will be there was absolutely no reason why it needed to be in Dublin..either way more time & money wasted at the cost of children's health.. & employing PWC to investigate?? PWC? that already work for BAM & the HSE is ludicrous #onlyinireland
Connolly’s a far by better site for sure, they could just rejig the current plans and ‘fit’ if into blanchardstown. It would not be too difficult to do. And the children will have fresher air. Not stuck into the city center

PLEASE DON'T LET LITTLE CHILDREN STEP IN YOUR DOGS DIRT OR GET SICK FROM IT.
"Dog poop bags that say "biodegradable" are only biodegradable in an "industrial" composting environment which reaches a certain temperature. People think like a banana peel they will eventually break down. Unfortunately they require heat to be added to degrade, so if you leave it in the woods, it actually takes years for them to break down. "
If these bags get into our waterways they sink and obviously the water is cold so therefore do not biodegrade. They also do not break down in landfills as the conditions aren't optimal, nor can they be recycled in your recycling bin.
Please please do not be under the impression that you can fling your poop bag from you and that it will it break down in the environment, it won't.
Research the brand of poop bags you are buying and how to dispose of them correctly. Compostable bags seem like the better option but again they must be disposed of correctly.
If the bag is also thrown into a tree or bush, birds will be less likely to nest close to it.
There are correct type bins in Ashtown as seen in the picture below, that Dublin City Council has thankfully supplied.
Martin Savage Park have one at each entrance, where St. Oliver Plunkett Eoghan Ruadh GAA Club playing pitches are.
The Royal Canal has one across from
Royal Canal Park Gym just outside the railing. Another one is just Outside the playground beside the Royal Canal in Rathborne.

Please sign this petition if you agree with people directly affected by the location of our #NCH , that we should Pause and revaluate on the construction for the best possible outcome for everyone.
It is very important to listen to people who are directly affected by this project.

Our Taoiseach Leo Varadkar stated that no one disagrees that the hospital should proceed, that St James is the right location. From the day it was announced every Family with A Child using our hospitals disagreed with him. Mr Harris told us that it was right to push ahead with phase B, without pausing to fully evaluate all viable options. 100 million this year in Cuts to your services, for their mistakes!.
We received this message from a special group of parents who have experienced first hand the reality of years of underinvestment in our health service. Please share if you agree!
"We are the Extra Special Kids Group of Ireland. We have two things in common, firstly we are parents to over 200 children with life limiting conditions that use the current children’s hospitals in Dublin and secondly, we are 100% opposed to building the NCH at St. James’s. Irelands sickest children deserve more than this SECOND RATE hospital. Please look at our video to see why we are opposed to the hospital being constructed at St. James’s.
Please do not let this mistake unfold… IT IS NOT TOO LATE TO;
STOP the build at the St.James’s site
LOOK at cheaper, faster, safer greenfield options
LISTEN to the parents, paediatricians, planners and the public who have been warning about St James’s for years
This project must be paused and reviewed before another penny is wasted. €2 billion, come on Ireland!
We are weary from arguing the truth since we submitted an objection to the project in 2015. Many of our children have sadly passed away since then. As a group we have an awful lot on our plate but we feel so upset about the decision that we will carry on fighting until we cannot fight anymore…
Please fight with us Ireland. "
