Local Election Candidate for Ballina
Tracey is a social media manager from Ballina, Co Mayo.
She is a mum of 5 and is married to Kieran who is a chef originally from Cavan. Tracey and her family faced uncertainty like many others during the recession, at the time Kieran was a builder and they had to think of a way to keep their house so Kieran went to work in a restaurant and washed dishes, he worked his way up and gained the culinary qualifications needed to get where he is now.
Tracey went back to college after having her first daughter at 19 to complete her studies as a mature student. In 2009 she graduated with an honours degree in business from GMIT and 7 years and 4 babies later graduated with a Masters in Marketing from LYIT.
Tracey traveled to Liverpool Women’s Hospital in 2014 to deliver her daughter Grace who was diagnosed with a fatal abnormality. As a result of this Tracey became a member of Terminations For Medical Reasons and became a spokesperson for them and Together for Yes during the successful 2018 campaign to repeal the 8th Amendment. Tracey traveled the country telling her story.
Tracey recently became PRO for the Ballina Salmon Festival. She is keen to support local businesses and communities, she wants to see more amenities for young people, a community council established to look after residential estates in her town and to look after those vulnerable and living alone, affordable quality childcare for working/studying parents and affordable and accessible healthcare at a local level.
