Yesterday was absolutely nerve wracking!
Unfortunately at the end of the tallies I’m left with a very outside chance of taking the final seat. I need a lot of transfers to go my way so it’s unlikely although I’ve not given up hope just yet.
To the 681 people who gave me their first preference vote I want to give my sincere thanks. It’s been a wonderful journey. And thank you for believing in me.
My team of Pádraig Lohan Sinead McCarthy Mossie Richardson Natalie O Brien Gráinne Hanley Ailish Ni Chofaigh and everyone else who contributed, I’m so grateful and I’m sorry I wasn’t deemed good enough. To my fellow SocDems Sarah Jane Hennelly Kieran Walsh and Elisa O'Donovan, thanks for everything, Ye are amazing people 💜💜💜
I want to wish my fellow Kilmallock candidates the best of luck, it’s looking like a tight finish for the last seats, so assuming I’m eliminated then I hope my transfers get ye over the line.
My party the Social Democrats, are wonderful people, so supportive and encouraging. We are growing, we will have a louder voice post election and there will be transparency and accountability in Council.
It doesn’t finished here for me though, I truly believe in Kilmallock and I’m not going away for the next 5 years. Our town needs investment and change, and I’ll be here to remind our councilors of that.

Very proud of you Trevor and what you have achieved. Let's hope the candidates that have been successful will try their best to make positive changes in our town as promised!!!
So after 4 months of campaigning up and down the district the day had finally come.
I didn’t get to every household and for that I apologize to those disappointed. If elected I’ll be available to everyone.
Thank you to everyone one supported and will vote for me.
It was a very strange experience seeing myself there on the ballot, Now that it’s all done and dusted I can only wait and see....

For today’s Limerick Leader I was interviewed about my experience as a Social Democrats candidate for the Local Elections.
I was diagnosed with epilepsy 5 years ago which means I’m not allowed to drive so it has required a lot of planning to get around this enormous district.
It has hammered home how awful public transport is in our area, the neglect of rural Limerick is staggering, consequently public transport has become an important part of my campaign.
Enjoy the read and please vote #1 tomorrow! ... See MoreSee Less

Wow! What an amazing artist!
I absolutely love it 💜
Taking a short break from the election.
Coffee, breathe and listen to and old Paradise Lost album called “Host” (20 years old 😨) before I dive back in.
@NickHolmesPL totally underrated album by many!
Council slowing down access to terms of this tendering process @Limerick_Leader. We @SocDemsLK will continue to pursue, it can't be one rule for them&one for everyone else -all sectors are open to scrutiny on tenders of this spend, we're talking public money also #Limerick #Le19
Getting around this huge district is a challenge, made more difficult by having epilepsy which means I’m often reliant on our awful public transport.
I was interviewed by @DonalORegan1 for this weeks @Limerick_Leader on my election experience.
