Throughout his career, Christy stayed true to his Finglas roots
The death of Aslan singer Christy Dignam has been described as a sad day for the Finglas community, by local Social Democrats TD Róisín Shortall.
“I would like to express my deepest condolences to Christy’s family, friends, bandmates and legion of music fans.
“Throughout his career, Christy stayed true to his Finglas roots and was much loved and respected by people of the area.
“Christy’s huge talent and generous spirit will ensure he leaves a lasting legacy. Apart from being an Irish music icon, he will be remembered for his honesty when talking about his personal struggles and the bravery with which he faced his cancer diagnosis.
“His loss will be deeply felt by anyone who knew him or those who were touched by his unique musical talent.”
