Meet Alan

I’m Alan Moynihan, the Social Democrats Local Election Candidate for Cahir.

I live just outside Ballyporeen. I work as an emergency call taker for An Garda Síochána and I am based in the southern control room in Cork.

I have been a volunteer in the mental health field for nearly a decade and I am also a campaigner for better awareness and services in the disability sector. I recently completed a charity walk to raise funds to buy communication boards for the schools in Tipperary and am working towards getting them for the local playgrounds also.

I joined the Social Democrats because I believe the time for change is now. With our new voices and commitment to improving services we can make this a fairer, more equal and sustainable country.

Alan’s Priorities

• Advocate for better local access to mental health facilities.
• Improved local access to disability services.
• Improved local transport services.
• Reduction in turnaround time for housing returned to the council to help reduce wait times.
• Tackle building dereliction in our towns.
