Meet Andrew

I’m Andrew Ring, the Social Democrats Local Election Candidate for Kanturk which includes, Charleville, Newmarket, Freemount, Dromina, Meelin, Rockchapel, Boherboy, Cullen and Banteer.

I live in Charleville and work for Irish Rail as an Executive Officer in Mallow.

I grew up in Ballyhea, and am deeply committed to improving the lives of everyone in our local community.

I was inspired to get involved in politics because I believe our community needs fresh ideas and a new perspective.

Andrew’s Priorities

• Building more affordable housing.
• Investment in roads and public infrastructure, including a bypass for Charleville town.
• A public healthcare system where patients are treated quickly based on their need, not their ability to pay.
• A more frequent and reliable bus and rail network that links up services in rural Ireland.
• Better cycling infrastructure in our towns and villages.
• Working towards a greener future, promoting more off shore wind generation.
