Meet Justine

I’m Justine Delaney Heaslip, the Social Democrats Local Election Candidate for Galway City East.

I grew up in Galway City and lived just off the Headford Road for 20 years with my husband and two children.

I work as an Office Manager and Sustainability Ambassador for a leading technology company.

I’m an active campaigner in our community and passionate about building an equitable and thriving Galway City that supports all our needs.

Fighting for affordable housing, the development of facilities for sports, arts and culture, and greater support for community groups are some of my priorities.

Galway is at an exciting crossroads. I would like to be part of a cohesive and forward thinking Council that listens and supports the new City CEO, The Executive and City Council Teams along with residents, community and business groups, and quieter voices to ensure a liveable city and sustainable economic growth.

Justine’s Priorities

• Prioritise the delivery of social and affordable housing.
• Fight for improved public spaces and sustainable planning, action on biodiversity, and the commencement of the GLUAS project.
• Develop facilities for sports, arts and culture and other community groups.
• Fight for social care and childcare systems that are designed to meet the needs of the whole community.
• Improve road safety for children going to school.
