Meet Lydia

I’m Lydia Bigley, the Social Democrats Local Election Candidate for Blackrock.

I’m running for local election because I want this area to be a great place to live for everyone. I grew up in Booterstown and went to secondary school in Blackrock. My grandparents first moved to the area in 1950 and my Dad grew up here too.

I currently work in UCD as an Administrator. I love to run and train with Crusaders AC in Irishtown and the Dublin Front Runners in the Phoenix Park.

I believe that Dún Laoghaire-Rathdown County Council could be doing so much more, particularly in the areas of housing, the environment and our public spaces.

I’m a passionate campaigner with a strong work ethic. I would love the opportunity to represent you on Dún Laoghaire–Rathdown County Council.

I joined the Social Democrats because we need fresh voices and ideas. I will work for a society that is equitable and fair for all through the development of communities.

Lydia’s Priorities

  • Fight for increased funding for public amenities for all our community.
  • Proper funding to support our young people, particularly in the area of mental health.
