Meet Lynn

I’m Lynn Tierney, the Social Democrats Local Election Candidate for Clondalkin which includes, Saggart, Rathcoole, Brittas and Newcastle.

I am running for election because I believe local services should meet the needs of all in our community. I am a proud resident of Saggart and the Four Districts including Saggart, Rathcoole, Newcastle and Brittas.

My career spans 20 years of leadership and quality improvement roles in disability, community and voluntary services. I have also been a dedicated local resident, successfully pushing the council to make improvements through my voluntary and local community efforts.

I believe that the Council can do so much more for our communities by being proactive and responsive in its approach, especially when it comes to promoting participation, investing in our public spaces, and providing genuinely affordable housing.

I am committed, collaborative and empathetic and I would love the opportunity to represent you on South Dublin County Council.

Together with Councillor Eoin Ó Broin, we make up your Social Democrats Team for the Clondalkin LEA.

In the Census 2022, Saggart was named Ireland’s Youngest town and Newcastle was named Dublin’s fastest growing place. I will push to ensure the necessary amenities are prioritised in Council plans and budgets to cater to the needs of our communities.

Lynn’s Priorities

• Fight for increased funding for public amenities and community spaces.
• Promote effective planning processes to ensure sustainable development.
• Prioritise delivery of social and affordable housing.
• Advocate for affordable public transport and safe roads.
• Push for the integration of climate policy at a Council level.
